  Success Story
“Breathing a Sigh of Relief”

How one man learned to slow down his work pace but still maintain – and eventually increase – his income level.

Giving for a Living

Dr. Stan Harris had spent the majority of his adult life giving to others, but he forgot to pay attention to himself and his own needs. It all began when he went on the road as a Baptist evangelist, traveling from church to church speaking to congregations, often several times a day. He did this for 18 years because he wanted to reach people and make a difference in their lives. Particularly with kids, because Stan had had such a difficult time in his youth.

“I got into a lot of trouble growing up, but God turned my life around,” he shares. So he drew from his own experiences and used them to touch lives. In the process he developed a unique “drawing card” to bring youth to his services: martial arts.

Stan is an 8th-degree black belt, teaches Isshin-ryu karate classes and has help Pennsylvania’s title of Heavyweight Point Sparring Karate Champion for several years now. “When I started mixing my martial arts demonstrations with preaching, I found it was a great way to connect with kids and show them how to be focused, stay determined and have a goal in mind,” explains Stan.

It struck a chord with many people in attendance and soon his phone was ringing nonstop with requests from public schools, Boy Scout troops, businesses and other organizations that wanted Stan to come speak at their events and assemblies.

It wasn’t in his nature to say no, so he started adding speaking engagements to his already busy schedule. He and his family traveled all over the United States and internationally while Stan reached out to people through seminars, meetings and martial arts demonstrations. But the pace was getting faster as he kept trying to top what he was doing. “I was out of balance. I wanted to prove to everyone that I was hard working and dedicated,” he says.

Stan also reveals that it wasn’t just the “superman syndrome” that he was trying to live up to. He thoroughly enjoyed working with people, helping them solve their problems and turn their lives around. It was what he lived for; it was his purpose in life. “If folks didn’t pay me to preach, I’d pay them to listen,” Stan says. So for years he kept turning up the heat a little higher; but because others were benefiting, it didn’t seem like such a big deal.

Running on Empty

But it became a big deal the day Stan drove home from Harrisburg, PA, to South Carolina to speak and then drove through the night to Washington, DC, for another speaking engagement. He thought he’d have time to get some sleep in the afternoon, but found himself counseling a young couple during the day. Then he got back in his motorhome and drove all night to Harrisburg where his jam-packed, fast-paced lifestyle got the best of him. He’d been devoting 300 days a year to travel, averaging only four hours of sleep a night. It’s no wonder Stan’s energy level had been completely zapped and he collapsed.

As a result, Stan suffered stroke-like symptoms that lingered for months. While the symptoms were short-term, he admits to having been a “basket case” for a long time. His wife, Kim, a homeschooler, helped nurse him back to good health. “The blessing was we had learned to live on a cash-only basis before this happened. Everything was paid for and we had money in the bank; otherwise this could’ve been financially devastating,” shares Stan.

In keeping with his personality, Stan searched for the silver lining during his recovery and found a new interest: health and wellness. He followed the lead of another Baptist preacher and put himself on the “Hallelujah diet.” He started to feel better and eventually ended up shedding 85 pounds, six inches off his waist and dropping a shoe size.

“I went from looking like a dead man to looking like I was in high school,” says Stan with amazement. “I slowed down and started taking care of myself.” Before he knew it, people started asking him what he did to lose the weight and regain his health. There was so much interest that Stan was adding health and his own success story to his list of seminars. Kids were soon learning about martial arts, self-improvement and the importance of good health all at the same time.

“It wasn’t long before I had parents calling me, amazed that their kids weren’t interested in junk food anymore. They wanted to know what I was telling them,” says Stan.

He was supposed to be scaling back, but instead found himself piling up the workload. According to him, he eased back into it, but there’s no question that he was in demand once again. He wondered how he could continue to help people but also slow down and not suffer financially. The answer came in an unexpected way – in the form of an air and water purifier.

A Breath of Fresh Air

Stan traveled both nationally and internationally to give his sermons and seminars, often staying in hotels. At one event, he was complaining that his hotel room reeked of smoke even though it was a non-smoker’s room. Someone gave him an air purifier to clear the room of any odor and sure enough, it worked in a matter of hours, claims Stan. The cigarette smoke smell was gone and he had one of the best nights sleep of his life. He even work up 1 hour before his alarm. When he got home, he set up a purifier in his basement. The mildew smell and mold disappeared.

“It worked so well that I had to buy it,” he says. The air purifier was sold through a network marketing distributor for EcoQuest International, a 15+ year old, debt free health and wellness, Christian based company. The purifier kills mold and eliminates pet and smoke odors and drops particles out of the air.

According to a recent newspaper article, 64,000 people die annually from breathing in the particles. Air pollution is the number one health concern of the day. According to the American College of allergists, half of all illnesses are caused by polluted indoor air. Newsweek magazine claims that asthma has risen 300% in the last 20 years because of mold. 50% of all buildings have a problem with mold. The EPA says that 90% of our time is spent indoors. Indoor air pollution is four times, and in extreme cases 100 times, worse than outdoor pollution. It’s the only time in history that it’s safer to live outdoors than indoors. 80% of what you see floating in the air is dead skin particles. On the dead particles are dust mites which are the number one transmitter of disease.

The distributor told Stan it was in his best interest to sign up as a distributor and get the air purifier at a lower cost and to earn commission on every one he sold. “I didn’t want to be a dealer and sell them, but I signed up anyway just to get the machine at the wholesale cost,” remembered Stan. What he didn’t realize was how big a decision that would turn out to be.

“The air purifier worked so well I couldn’t help telling people and suddenly they wanted one too. I wasn’t trying to sell them, people just kept asking me about them,” laughs Stan. It was a familiar scenario; just like news of his talents as a motivational speaker and his successful weight loss endeavors had spread by word-of-mouth, so had his network marketing business.

“In one month with EcoQuest, I matched my monthly earnings as an evangelist. In two months I broke company records and the funny thing is, I didn’t know what I was doing,” grins Stan. “people who bought the air purifiers started asking me questions about the business and I didn’t know anything. I got stuck in this business so I decided I’d better start figuring it out.”

Just like everything else he’s done, Stan excelled at network marketing. In his ninth month working part-time, Stan made over $10,000.00. He finally found the freedom he’d been searching for; the freedom and power to choose his own involvement in his business and to determine what level of income he wanted. The other thing he liked about the industry was it turned out to be yet another way he could help people. (See the sidebar on page 3 for more details.)

Stan is no longer concerned about having enough money to make ends meet, and he isn’t overworking himself to keep up his income level. He’s finding that balance his life had been lacking for so long. Of course, he got so good at being a network marketer that requests for him to speak at meetings and give presentations about the business started coming in and once again, he couldn’t say “no.”

That only lasted a short time before he began to see and understand the pattern that developed each time he took on a new interest or project. “I’m always searching for more ways to help people, but the downside of that is I stretch myself to the max. I’ve learned to tell people that my plate is full, but it’s full of all the things I like,” he says.

A Little R & R

So he continues to focus on building his business and helping others get theirs started, and he makes time to speak and give demonstrations. In addition, he continues to compete in martial arts and teaches some classes near his Pennsylvania home.

But what he really likes to do is play basketball and take bike rides with his kids. He also gets a kick out of driving his new black Lincoln Navigator that he earned from the company bonus car program after meeting certain criteria in six months with EcoQuest.

Dr. Stan acknowledges that one of the best things he’s learning form being a network marketer is how to relax. He feels comfortable knowing that his financial needs have been met and aren’t forcing him to make choices that interfere with his health or his family time. He has determined his priorities in life and is sticking to them. So, while he remains very active in all his interests, including building his business, Stan also knows the importance of taking time for himself. Maybe that explains why he took the phone off the hook yesterday morning, put his feet up and just hung out at home.

“Will you let me help you?”

Stan Harris finds himself asking this question all the time in his network marketing business with EcoQuest International. He’s a dealer for the health and wellness based network marketing company and is guided by a goal to help people better themselves.

He seeks opportunities to help people and manages to take an ordinary occurrence and turn it into a business transaction. On a typically uneventful trip to the tire store recently, Stan couldn’t get over how bad it smelled in the store. It reeked of rubber and chemicals, so he asked the owner how he could stand it.

“He told me he goes home at night and his clothes smell like tires,” says Stan. So Stan offered the owner one of EcoQuest’s products, an air purifier, for a three-day trial to get the odor out.

According to Stan, three days later he revisited the tire store and the smell was gone. The owner told him the odor was completely gone within four hours of using the machine. Not only did the tire storeowner buy the unit, he became a distributor and sold them to his family, several of whom have their own tire stores, and has even gotten some entrepreneurial customers in the business.

Stan offers this explanation about the ease of his work, “I don’t have a secret. I’m not a salesperson. I don’t seek to sell products. My goal is to help solve problems…I simply offer solutions. I tell them, ‘I’d like to help you, will you let me?’ ”

“Will you allow me to help you breathe easier physically, socially and most of all financially?” - Dr. Stan Harris

How would you like for your Health to be Ten Times Better in 2005?

Over half of the United States population has problems with obesity and undernourishment, which in turn cause a myriad of other health problems, that may be avoided!
Daniel 1:8-20 is a powerful passage that changed my Health, and my entire life. I have more energy, more clear thoughts, a better attitude, and I lost a lot of weight. Would you like to be a Ten Times Better Woman of God, a Ten Times Better Mother, a Ten Times Better Vessel, a Ten Times Better Wife, a Ten Times Better single etc.  Dan.1:20b He (the King) found them Ten Times Better than all...    This is a great new years goal or challenge!!!

For now, let's concentrate on your Health. Scientists have discovered that there is a direct link between disease and diet. Your body is an amazing health machine that can heal itself of disease if you give it the proper nutrition. Conversely, the lack of proper nutrition in your diet leaves your body defenseless to disease. Verse 8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the Kings meat, nor with the wine which he drank...If you want to be TTB  I want to challenge you to do what Daniel and the 3 Hebrew children did.

V 12 give us pulse to eat (anything sown or grown from the Earth-fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts, etc.)  and water to drink for 10 days. V 15 at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer ( in the Hebrew this word could be translated better, best, glad, cheerful, to make well) and fatter (this word means firm or stronger) Now in just ten days time of eating nothing but fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts, etc ( no flesh ) and drinking only plenty of water-no soda, sugar drinks etc. I hear someone saying to themselves, "no meat for Ten days, I'll get weak, sick or maybe even die -what about my protein?" The average American eats 900 chickens, 24 Hogs, 15 Cows, 12 Sheep and 1,000 lbs of fish or other animals! By the way, the word Vegetarian in the Latin means to enliven. The largest and strongest animals in the world are vegetarian like Elephants, Cows, Gorillas, Rhinos etc, remember " strong as an ? OZ (which is vegetarian). In fact no animal or human ate meat until after the flood. Gen 1:29 .."..I have given every tree.. to you it shall be for meat ( nourishment) I am not trying to get you to be a vegetarian, but rather to take a challenge that could change your health, your vitality, your well being. Will you take me up on the challenge?

Vs 14, 15 Melzar could tell a difference in Daniel and his friends. So give it a try, I challenge you to try it for just 10 days ( my 10 days turned into 7 years, because I got such powerful results, as well as my family and friends who have tried at least the 10 day challenge)- please email me DrStanHarris@aol.com yes Dr Stan, I will take the challenge, and I will send you additional tips. Having someone to be accountable helps, plus if you do this along with a friend, buddy, or family member, it will help your success rate. I also want to hear of your results. One person started on the 10 day challenge with their spouse, and the 3 children decided to join in when they noticed their parents with more energy. By the way, the ten day challenge has been going on with this particular family ( Jerome & Jackie B. )  for the last 3 years. One lady reported that her skin cleared up, others lost weight, I could go on but the bottom line is Will you take the 10 day challenge? I must warn you, based on the condition of your body, you may experience detoxification ( body trying to clean itself of poisons). Thus, it is crucial to drink plenty of purified, or distilled water to help flush the toxins out. You might want to get extra rest also, and focus on the outcome, not what you want to stay away from. Some people need more than ten days because the soil has been depleted, and our fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts, etc have been harvested early for shipping, so juicing can make a big difference also.

Many foods are so processed that they contain no essential nutrients to feed the body's immune system. As a result your immune system gets weaker and disease is imminent. Our bodies are not designed to ingest and assimilate foods that have been irradiated and devitalized. Additionally, farming soils and processed foods may be deficient in vitamins, enzymes, fiber, and essential nutrients. I highly recommend quality supplements during this time. It's the start that stops most people, don't let the start stop you- just start now !
